Queensway Sports Stadium, Wrexham, North Wales

Queensway is a sports stadium and leisure centre in Caia Park, Wrexham, North Wales.

It’s best known for its International standard athletics track and field facilities which have seen several top athletes visit including Colin Jackson, Jamie Baulch, Iwan Thomas and Christian Malcolm.

It has spectator seating, a gym, two squash and racketball courts, a gymnastics hall and two outdoor 5 a side football pitches.

For the London 2012 Olympic Games the Queensway Stadium was the official training camp for Lesotho and has also been the training venue for the Wales Rugby League and USA Rugby League squads.

In 2017 Richard King Systems worked with Freedom Leisure at Queensway as part of the major refurbishment project. Improvements included:

  • Digital control sound processing for optimum sound over the various zones within the main building complex
  • New compact, best in class, loudspeaker systems for evenly spread clear, high fidelity sound in both gyms
  • Simply to operate controls for leisure centre staff
  • Background music to all indoor access areas
  • TV systems in the two gym facilities
  • Upgrading of the outdoor stadium sound system
